I guess clarity is not a strong point at AV Club.
I've learned a lot about the site through this exchange.

Whether dryers existed at that time is not the point.
The point is, the AV Club took a vague assertion in the original post and turned it into something that might be factually inaccurate.
But whatever. Clicks before Facts!

If you can't tell the difference by reading the post, the facts it presents and the question it raises, that's clearly your issue, not mine.

In the original article, they state the whoosh in the title sequence was created by Courage "blowing air across a microphone himself."

"The German film Labyrinth Of Lies, a conservatively mounted
