I dunno if I’d call- aggressively pushing the Iraq war, writing that Saddam was connected to 9/11, writing the “axis of evil” speech full of lies to sway a nation of voters to support the war, shouted down any dissent as “unamerican” and calling them traitors and enemies- “interesting”.

Socialism was coined before Marx. It really best looked at as a set of goals for society rather than a definite philosophy. Capitalism fails multiple times in everyone’s lifetime. We just spend a fuckton of money to save the system when it does.
There has been a definition creep (over many decades) but it is needed. Socialism can’t just mean hard line Marxism-Leninism.
The Nordic model is a social democracy. It qualifies, barely, as a socialist model.

well by that measure Cuba has less deaths by malnutrition than the US per person and is actually near the top for 172 countries. The rate of US deaths by malnutrition is more than double that of Cubas. Not sure what you’re getting at- if you are saying there isn’t a large amount of this population that can’t afford…
Yea I get that, just saying realize Cuba is a very very poor country and yet can still provide for their citizens in ways we can’t, or more accurately- choose not to.
Actually we’re the richest country on earth. It’s just all the benefits are consolidated into the hands of a few.
