The true justification is elaborated further down in the article.  It’s because you can’t effectively deepfake something that all sources say was never released.  It’s easy to discredit a deepfake if it’s something that wasn’t released vs. nitpicking whether details are accurate or not. 

I started losing respect for this author’s opinion at Pearl Jam and vowed to actually sign up to comment how bad of a take this is at Alien Ant Farm.  And you apparently included the Disturbed cover?  Get taste, dude.  Your opinion is bad and I will never read it again.
