Its completely retro… The AV Club wants you to think you're visiting a Myspace page… back in the year of 2002.

Just from memory that Dark Tower trailer included:

All I can say is this: I came here for the Showgirls puns, and I left happy.

Let's dig up the body and then after the autopsy, re-bury him in a Formica yellow casket that is unbearable to inhabit after 20 minutes.

Next, look through a microscope. Then somberly step away, rub your eyes, and say - "My god, what have we done?"

Have you ever listened to any of their radio stations? Adele is just the sort of undiscovered talent that iHeartRadio works to promote.

Indeed. There is no rational argument to made for racism, and these are not people who could follow that argument even if it existed.

Hans Moleman was actually cut from that scene, and yes, that was his line…

PS Her point about Rotten Tomatoes may be a good one, but Streep is about the last person to critique from a standpoint of rationality, statistics, etc. Here's an article by the Washington Post regarding her (and others) hysteria over the Chilean grape 'situation'. http://www.washingtonpost.c…

Years ago in 1989 I remember seeing Streep on Oprah (or whatever - let's just say it was one of those daytime talk shows where celebrities get to pontificate on politics, culture, etc. and the host just nods enthusiastically, and states how brilliant their opinions are, and later the audience steps outside stupider

They're still waiting for someone to make a second Dead Poets Society so they can rip that off, too…

Sure, good points, but (in my mind) that is just a matter of them being brothers, the identical twin aspect has nothing to do with the story or the resolution of that plot… Make sense? In other words, if they were just 'ordinary' brothers, would that have changed those revelations? Its probably a question of my

There Will Be Blood — great movie (obviously), but I've always found the twin brothers sub-plot disjointed. I kept expecting the point to re-enter the story, but of course it doesn't, so you've got this abrupt realization that those two brothers are twins (which lands like a thud) and it's all to no particular end…

How much does this Internet person get paid for this sort of 'great job'? Because they have been phoning it in, of late…

Don't worry, you've got plenty of support from people that are likewise in the Wheedon = Who gives a *^$#@ category. Strangely, it seems these days, solid and consistent C+ work is enough to earn you a rabid following.

I've heard that term applied to Lisa Lampanelli many times… Yup, its a code word - in my book, it means "one note," and that note is immediately tiresome.

Like 2/5ths of the way in… Maybe 4/9ths.

I just come here for the enjoyably snarky comments about what a horrible section this is, but I worry the AVClub counts my visits as a legitimate vote that this section is actually a net-positive for the site. Thus, my question: Is it still sex if I don't go all the way in…?

I say we just nuke it from orbit - its the only way to be sure.

Indeed. These huge contrived themes, awkwardly forced upon action movies, are like bad fan-fiction.
