It depends. Do I think shitty behavior on a reality show by a back office employee should matter? Maybe not. I think it's more complicated when it's a public face, such as a salesperson (as with the Survivor contestant) or a public relations professional (the woman in the Ronson book who made the AIDS joke). …
I know. I went there a year ago when I was in New City on business. It's much nicer but it's still weird.
I haven't lived there in years either. My parents moved to NJ 11 years ago. To be honest, Nanuet Hotel hasn't been good the past few times that I've been there but I still have fond memories from going there from the Mall (and there's only one Mall. The other one, in Nyack, is the new mall. )
Poughkeepsie is upstate. It's equidistant between NYC and Albany, which makes it upstate.
That works. Nice to meet someone else from the county. Nanuet Hotel or Martio's?
It used to be easy. If none (or very few) of your neighbors commuted to the city, you were upstate; hence, Orange County being upstate. As more people have been pushed out, that's become a harder criterion to apply.
Ess-A-Bagel is too big and the lines at the one on 51st and 3rd are too damn long and filled it with European tourists. Personally, I'm a fan of Jumbo on 2nd between 56th and 57th (it's also open 24/7).
He's a Moabite.
KC Masterpiece? You heathen! It's Open Pit!
Ah, be quiet. I grew up in Rockland County and NO ONE knows where that is. I had people from Westchester ask me where it was (note to everyone here - it is across the Hudson River from Westchester, and just north of New Jersey).
Somewhere, there's a video of Eddie Vedder singing the jingle in concert. Seriously, he did it at a concert in Chicago.
Are you thinking of Ilan Mitchell-Smith from Weird Science?
Max Dugan Returns. My mother actually canceled our HBO on the grounds that "all they ever show is Max Dugan Returns."
The Dems turned on Weiner because he was basically viewed as an asshole by everyone with whom he came in contact. They would've closed ranks for someone not so eminently punchable (watch the documentary on him).
Rerun was paid to tape it by a bootlegger.
Rerun was on the Gong Show on "What's Happening," but sadly Chuck was not. In his place appeared Kene Holliday (pushes pedantic nerd glasses up nose).
While not a Bar/Ber, I'm going Chuck Yeager. Or Ken Berry.
Patti LaBelle: I got a new attitude.
