Some crossover with the aerospace branch.

If a Tesla is already stopped and an impending crash is detected, it levitates to remove the vehicle from danger of impact.

Good question. I’ve been in hard-ish-braking situations myself with someone following relatively close behind me a time or two. I don’t know what the Tesla system does, but what’s worked for me is to brake a little hard at fitst to get the attention of the driver behind me, then brake at a continuously-adjusted rate

Fortunately, though, Tesla’s sensors knew when he pulled up in the driveway so it was able to pull out and leave before he knew it happened.

To be fair, the car in the right side could clearly see the car in front of the red car (or at least should have been able to see, because they have a clear line of sight). The driver in the Tesla car did not have the same angle and so was unable to see the second and third car past the red car.
