So this validation by a black woman re: Dolezal is so Vanity Fair readers can nod their heads assured their puzzlement over the outrage

I was pleasantly surprised by this. It felt at once comfortably familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

I thought that was an interesting decision because it felt like last week when we didn't hear The Word. The idea of the gun loomed large but we never got the visual of seeing Dre actually holding the gun. I think just like the absence of The Word, the absence of The (physical) Gun was interesting.
