We bought a 2020 Bolt in September. On the highway at 65-70 it did 220 before the temperature dropped and we started having to use the heat. Mixed driving it was 270. Chevy was pretty conservative when stating their range.

That is a gorgeous paint color along with a horrible interior color. My 2007 997 is that same tan inside and it is the worst part of the car. Ugly, it reflects off the windows, bleh.
Those stories are true. I have a Bolt and I’m in New England. I rarely have to charge outside the home, but the number of times I’ve pulled up to a station to find the cord cut and missing or the station just not working are far too high. I wouldn’t set off on a long journey with anything but a Tesla at this point.…
I’m about 10mi from where I grew up. It was a lot easier in the 90s. Mom too the places I used to ride are now illegal unless you have a license plate, which isn’t a problem for me on my KTM 300, but my kid can’t legally go down those and I don’t want to go without him. There are still 10 or so riding areas around…
Doubt it. I decided last summer was the time to teach my son how to ride a dirt bike like I did when I was 12 (same as he was). All the day and sleep over camps were closed, pools all closed, parents didn’t want their kids out playing with other kids etc and my kid was sitting around. What better time to get back into…
I agree with you from the range, handling and performance standpoint. The Bolt drivetrain in the back of a small roadster would be fantastic to drive. The thing it misses for me is the feel, sound and character of an engine. I’m fortunate enough to have access to a 911, and 90% of the enjoyment of that car is the…
Agreed. However for me I need a truck to do actual truck things like towing. Towing will have such a huge impact on range that I don’t see an EV working for me for the foreseeable future. Good news is my Tacoma does that just fine and costs nothing to have a round to do dirty jobs so I could buy another EV as the…
I own a Bolt and I would definitely buy another EV without hesitation over a comparable ICE based vehicle. That said, I’d still get a traditional sports car or pickup truck, I don’t see EVs replacing those soon , but for a daily driver or family car, ICE cars make no sense anymore.
It’s be good stuff. New England rust is no joke and spraying Blaster o something the night before I work on it is often the difference between a broken or frozen bolt and ring done quickly. I always have a new can as backup.
I wonder if it has anything to do with it not being an SUV in any sense of the word?
I see what you did there. Well done, Dad.
You’re fooling yourself if you think the majority of Wrangler owners ever get farther off-road than their lawn.
I picked up the small 7" Knipex earlier this year to carry on my motorcycle tool kit. It has proven to be an amazingly useful tool in the woods while riding dirt bikes. There’s been a few things that have needed to be taken care of out in the middle of nowhere where we would have been towing one of the bikes out if it…
For a couple weeks now I’ve been getting UPS deliveries from a Nissan Murano. The driver says it’s great. I’m about a mile from the local depot, so he’s probably just getting a lot of the close in local stuff.
Yes. Always. I have a job that I have to get to no matter the weather, and if my wife goes out I want her to be safe, so all of our vehicles get winter tires mounted on a second set of wheels so they are easy to swap over.
I would agree, but the people driving around with the yellow shipping covers on their Challengers proves that you are wrong. Do that and we’d see idiots driving around with the white plastic covering all the paint for years to preserve it.
Found a fellow sea coast NH resident!
This is the correct answer. Both of my vehicles have moose plates.
I feel like you don’t understand my dementia.
Damnit. How do I go on living without one of these in my life?
