I think I actually brought up the concept of axle alignment to the old man after one of their trips when they blew a couple tires, I think he was more interested in getting a new trailer than dealing with it.

My in-laws had that same Coleman camper, always towed it with a full-size pickup. Damn thing is too frikkin’ heavy for a single axle. Theirs ate tires on multiple long trips. They learned to keep 2 spare tires with them rather than just 1. Trailer also swayed pretty bad over 65. :(

Huh, I’m usually a harsh critic of interiors and I have no complaints about our 2016 Outback. The touchscreen is impossible to see if any sort of sunlight comes through the sunroof, but otherwise it seems very comfortable and pleasant to operate & look at.

Saw this one parked on the side of the road near our spring break vacation rental a few weeks ago in Waveland, MS. Killed me to not bring it home to Michigan, but I also know my wife would have killed me had I brought it home to Michigan. :(

It just makes good sense.

As a previous engineer for interior components and a long-time fanatic about interior design and ergonomics, I must weigh in.

I have to admit that I noticed the hair also, but somehow managed to focus on the content.

I can't believe that I offered to hook you up with the engineer who developed the beautifully controlled motion of those cup holders and you passed.

Oh, no question. My wife has a new Outback with CVT. It’s fine for a basic commuter car (I guess), but I’d never want it in something even resembling a performance car.

1st gear: Volvo has manufacturing in the USA? Perhaps you meant VW.

Well done, as always

Yeah, that’s a perfect overall package you describe. What do you have now?

As the current owner of the toy car on top and the former owner of the actual car on bottom... I give it a NP.

So many lines, so few parallels...

Ha. I’d argue that it draws more attention to it, then people see that you’re driving an ugly minivan!

Did the Rondo have 3 rows? Those were practical looking vehicles, the lack of sliding doors was certainly a bummer. It makes me cringe every time my kids open the back doors in our other non-minivan cars.

By adding the 2011 Odyssey to the list of visually atrocious cars? That’s a line that should always be crossed.

True.

Sounds like they did a nice job minimizing the height of those tracks. Good stuff for sure. Plus clearly an under-window track wasn’t possible in the 2011 since the rear window has such an angle to it. They at least fixed that with the latest model, although that swoop / floating pillar in the back is another tragedy.

For fun, I un-wrecked the design. I’d almost buy my version.
