Canada is America's hat. What does that make New Zealand, Australia's bow tie?
The great thing about old TV movies is that they tend to end up on YouTube:
What They Were Probably Promoting on Carson (09 Feb 1983):
Weirdest part of Kanye tonight: El DeBarge? Holy crap, I thought I was having a flashback.
The Amazing Race's attempt to bolster their ratings by casting social media stars as contestants seems to have not moved the needle whatsoever. Hmmm, maybe the demographic who made them internet stars isnt the same demographic who tune in to an old skewing network for entertainment. Who woulda thunk?
Pretty horrible for Colbert and CBS to nakedly campaign for more viewers with the post-Superbowl show only to have Kimmel win the ratings war the week following. I doubt we'll see any dramatic sort of turning point in ratings such as Leno over Letterman after the Hugh Grant interview. They will be see-sawing back…
Before there was Mark Wahlburg in Boogie Nights, there was Gregory Hines in History of the World Part 1:
I disagree with Levine winning over Gordon, but that was the best and closest competition in a long time. The three point contest was pretty damn good as well.
What They Were Probably Promoting on Carson (13 Feb 1975):
Speaking of bad guesses, the only thing that came to my mind was Jesse Helms, who died in 2008. Still not as bad as Obama who was 12 in 1973.
My DVR decided to stop outputting sound right before Kanye's first performance on SNL tonight. I had to reboot and missed the whole thing. I really love my DVR.
Yeah, I would have been happy with any outcome that didn't end with Sam as the victor.
Alas.
I see your foofaraw and raise you a flapdoodle.
I wonder what impact Phillip's time on Top Chef will have on his businesses? I imagine he will gain some customers from the initial curiosity and celebrity of the whole thing. But considering he seemed to be completely delusional about his food, I think it has to hurt his restaurants in the long run.
Without looking too deeply, the first few seem to be on YouTube.
Last week's SNL was pretty outstanding. The odds of them stringing two quality shows together are probably astronomical.

"A guy from Arcade Fire" actually has some skills. It was kind of weird to watch him last year.
