Syracuse vs. Duke held my attention. Probably had something to do with the outcome, but I thought it was exciting.

Someone needs to officially declare what the expiration date is on spoilers. Come on, The Sopranos premiered 17 years ago!

I often hold my own, but I never get any acclaim for it.

The clue says that the President signed the historic site into law. I'm way too lazy right now to look, but maybe Carter didn't sign the church into law.
And yeah, a clue about the Little Rock Nine being triple missed on Martin Luther King Day is not the outcome you would hope for.

What They Were Probably Promoting on Carson (1 Mar 1985):

Instantly flashed to Tracy Morgan reading that last sentence:

I couldn't bring myself to watch The Middle when it debuted in 2009 because even after a four year break I was still all Patricia Heaton-ed out. I know it's received it's fair share of praise and positive reviews, but I just can't bring myself to dive on in. Which is a lengthy way of saying I will take your word

According to their website, it's journalists and critics. So it's probably not a Metacritic or Rotten Tomatoes type selection of critics, but there are critics in the mix nonetheless.

A Mythbuster, a sportscaster, and the always incredible Mr. Funches. Yeah, gonna watch that one.

Dude has been working a lot since Guardians. He has the sequel coming in 2017 as well as a Kickboxer movie in 2016, and he's also rumored to be the new "Kurgan" for the Highlander reboot.

Yeah, I figured, but the project coincides with the date of his appearance….so?

It was so exciting he couldn't bring himself to attend.

What They Were Probably Promoting on Carson (24 Apr 1984):

At the Critic’s Choice Awards last night, Mayim Bialik beat Kether Donohue,
Allison Janney, Judith Light, Niecy Nash, and Eden Sher (but mostly
Kether Donohue) for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. In what
world is TBBT and it’s cast critically acclaimed?
The serious love for Mr. Robot and Fargo makes that

Looking a little deeper, the two weeks up to July 14th had guest hosts filling in for Carson. The list I'm looking at has a couple of days with just the guest host listed, so maybe there is incomplete information, but the guest list as a whole looked a little on the anemic side. Might explain it.

Awesome, Goldie in her golden prime. Yeah, I will definitely need the resident TV Historians like Amadeus and yourself to keep me straight on occasion.
Curiously, I can't find an appearance by any of the stars to promote Foul Play preceding it's July 14, 1978 release date. Maybe Goldie mentioned it if she was feeling

Bet your bottom dollar.

"friend's brother"
"aunt's neighbor"
Six Degrees of Stride Motheration.

This is completely curiosity mixed with nostalgia for me. My cable provider doesn't deign to "provide" Antenna TV and I can't get it over the air. Meh, it's fun for now, that's all that's important, really. Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Dammit, I would have recorded the MADtv special, but I forgot it was on. Can anyone tell me if it's worth my time to seek it out? I'm guessing probably not, but I'm cautiously hopeful.
