Finally someone willing to say that the scroll wheel isn't the perfect miracle that Apple and followers claim. IMHO is sucked in the 80's when Coleco used it and still sucks when Apple copied it.

"if you've forgotten to put your phone on vibrate" if you never take it off vibrate then you don't forget to put it on vibrate. I don't know what my ring sounds like.
Um, its called vibrate. You can still tell that those ring tones are ring tones and not the real thing so they are still annoying and rude. If you need a cell phone then it should be atached to your person, not laying inside a backpack/laptop bag or on your desk.
@coolbeing its been many years since I did pull everything out of yahoo/hotmail and such but one of them I was able to export contcts to a standard vcard and the other I just had to forward all the details. It took a variety of tools, I had to outlook express to get the mail out of hotmail since it was the only thing…
@coolbeing You can try an app called bitpim which is cross platform and supports many cell phones and synch's the calendar. I haven't tried to run it from a USB flash drive (stick is copyrighted by Sony and it not USB compatible).
The only downside I see to this is the layout, its easier to track based on a timer if you layout whatever system you use in chronological order. I've tried similar both on paper on and a computer (using MS Outlook's Journal). I find time tracking a bit easier to do on a computer since its somewhat automated, but…
Some oil stays in your engine even with a regular oil change. You have all sorts of little pockets in places to keep the oil there for startups. So probably around 1/4 of the oil stays in the engine when you drain. Now take something like this and about another 1/4 will stay in the drain pan because there is no way to…
There are plenty of other Linux distributions besides Ubuntu you could try as well. I've been running Linux as my main system for a couple years now and I haven't found anything that compares. When I wanted to autpmatically backup a couple files to my USB flash drive every time I plug it in it took 5 minutes to bash…
Of course someone would post an exception :)
How do you get excel to not clear the clipboard.
The idea of connecting elsewhere it to keep the spark away from the battery. Batteries let out small amounts of explosive gas and when you connect the cables you make a spark.
I became an unwilling AOL customer when they merged with Time Warner as I used to have their roadrunner cable service. Customer service from road runner dropped to AOL lows and the service reliability dropped as well. eventually I had to switch.
Actually the voltage regulator regulates the output from the alternator, not the input to the fuse block, the battery is usually connected straight to the fuse block. but your paralleling 12v with 12v so your not going to fry anything.
And really annoying that any real suspicious activity doesn't get flagged. Like when someone who had never paid for porn sites suddenly gets a charge for several, or when you buying something in one store and within the same 5 minutes your credit card number is buying something else in at the opposite side of town. I…
Anyone know something for Linux? I don't want to have to buy a windows license, was going to find an old laptop for our son to play with.
Except $333 per month isn't giving up coffe or TV, its giving up a car
But currently they are all toys, they get slightly better gias milage
@barnacle the problem with direct debit is its in control of the
I made the mistake of using Microsoft Money a few years back. You spent a lot of time hand entering data and categories and then spend hours trying to get it reconciled with your bank. Then they release a new version and you upgrade and find out it won't open your existing data file so you have to start over, much too…
I do something like the 24 hour rule, but my criteria isn't time but that whatever I buy has to fit my system. My system is rather complex but says everything has to have a place and purpose for being in my house. If I buy a cd burner there has to be a place to put it and its accessories so before I buy it I have to…
