I've been looking for one of these, but it seems after a couple years the refills get hard to find so you end up buying a new label maker every couple years. I'm going to buy one of those laminating kits and try to laminate inkjet labels or something to get away from having to replace everything every couple years.

Checks? You mean those things that hold up the check out line at the stores? Why is anyone still using them?

I've done similar with the multiple accounts. I have two banks now (you never know when the ATM's for one could be down) and a checking and savings account at both. One bank has the bill pay checking and the main savings account. The other bank has the play accounts. Each paycheck $500 goes into the play checking and

If someone would build a decent hybrid, I would buy it.

Actually I wasn't complaining about my gas milage, its pretty good for a full size (I get just under 20mpg). I had to move up to the full size truck to have room for a baby seat in the back as all the small trucks with extended cabs, the rear seats are not capable of having a child seat due to sitting sideways and the

guidetogreenliving, one thing to note, you can actually beat cruise control by following other advice such as anticipating and building up speed between hills. My first vehicle was a 1988 4x4 Chevy S10 (small truck to those not familiar) with no cruise. I could run 500 miles on a 20 gallon tank by getting in line

Higher octane needs higher compression ratios to have any effect. I've tried higher in a couple vehicles with no measurable difference.

The Mythbusters AC vs Windows down wasn't a great test either since they only did it for one vehicle. There are a lot of factors that will make the test come out differently depending on the vehilce and the speed it is traveling. I can go back to my personal example of the AC not making a measurable difference on my

careful on definations here. 4 wheel drive isn't the same as full time 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive. Plan old 4 wheel drive on a modern vehicle makes less than 1mpg difference.

steph, it depends on the vehicle. My old 4cly it was like you descrived, my v8 you can turn it off and on and not feel the difference. The AC takes such a small fraction of the the available HP/torque from some engines that it makes less difference than having the window drag.

I have found that using the A/C on mine makes no measurable difference, I haven't driven with the windows down enough to accuratly tell on that part.

The A/C vs windows down will depend on a lot of factors such as vehilce size/weight/drag/efficiency and speed. Say for example it takes 5HP to run the AC. at 30MPH the drag from the windows is probably around 1-2HP but at 70MPH it could be 7HP. It all depends on the vehicle so a Corvette with a low drag coeficient it

Thou shal not leave your cell phone on your desk while you are away in a conference room where you can't hear your ringtone loudly repeating multiple times. One of our loud talking project managers used to do that all the time and would wonder why his phone was turned off when he would come back to his desk.

I've only worked with business grade laptops/desktops so no Presario or

tiffany, Windows suffers the same basic design flaw of hiding less used stuff so you either never know about the features or spend hours digging through the help system trying to find a feature. I waste so much time trying to find hidden features on my work provided windows machine, MSoffice is the worst, little used

olegna, if your going to put dates in the filename use the long form for the year, that way it will sort all the way back. But a better way is to use the metadata, most files have a creation date built into some sort of metadata that you can sort on, that way you can make the name contain one form of data and the

skisteven1, I know its not the processor, its Bloated XP slowing the machine down. My 1GHz personal laptop is many times faster than the 2.4GHz machine the company gives me.

Ok, I'll be serious for a minute. The best tip I have for Windows is to run it virtually.

Funny, my Windows machine is a slow 2.4GHz, I have to hold the windows L for about 2 seconds to get it to work.
