I think it should be noted that this article is mistaken. Google's Content Removal page does not work unless the site owner has already removed the page from the web or blocked it from search engines, as Google specifies here.

An additional tip is to always ask to take a picture of their driver's license (and offer for them to do the same with yours, to be fair) before the transaction, so that you have a way to track them down if it turns out they have scammed you. Just their phone number can't always cut it.

It seems that the Amazon Associates program only works if you own a website, is that correct? Is there any way around this?

I completely agree, and I although I don't understand why they aren't in pristine condition, I have resorted to always purchasing my books in a book store where I can look through all of the copies they have and choose the one in the best condition. It almost always costs a few more dollars, but I think it's worth it.

Thanks for the input! I was lucky enough to snag an unlimited plan when they were still available, so data caps shouldn't be a problem. I think I'll actually stick to USB tethering, as I'm guessing that's faster.

Hmm, I could just never get the hang of using my phone as an mp3 player (or a lot of other things that LH people seem to love to use their phones for, for that matter). Even if I did use my phone for it, it can't hold my (or most others') full music library.
