A big problem with 20 something men (I used to be one) is that their focus is almost entirely on getting into bed with a women and next to nothing on what to do when they actually get there.
Part of the reason is that guys have no idea how anyone else has sex. Boys don’t sit around and compare notes about how well…
That’s fair enough enough although I wouldn’t call III a total rehash. We get some different kinds of conflict. In contrast to Part I, Doc eventually wants to stay in 1885 and has to decide whether to go with his logic or feelings. I also always took note that Bufford Tannon was a professional murderer. Mad Dog always…
Probably yes.
Can we pause a moment and talk about just how gorgeous Part III looks on screen? Its a fully realized Old West town but it never feels hokey, like Frontierland. It feels wonderfully dirty, dusty and unfinished.
Exactly. We at least have evidence of craft when it comes to science fiction.
A lot of the problems in those movies are not due to direction but to plot. Given that both Trek films were written by Robert “Transformers” Orci and the Force Awakens was written by Lawrence “Empire Strikes Back” Kasdan, I think Abrams is…
But even in that reference to Roddenberry you’ve acknowledged a huge part of the problem in New Trek is that it isn’t really Trek.
See in my opinion a lot of the flaws in both Abrams Trek film stem from them actually being Star Wars films not Star Trek films. They play much more like space opera than the adventure/journey motif of Star Trek films/television.
There’s certainly a possibility that the new Star Wars will suck. However, I contend that we already know what a JJ Abrams directed Star Wars movie looks like because whatever you want to call those summer tent poles he directed, you cannot call them Star Trek movies. Both of those movies wound up being pretty good,…
Maybe not with the threat of the doctor removing his spleen while he sleeps....
I disagree. I think River is great in the Zoe role as second in command/badass warrior. I think Kaylee has more of the imaginative mind for keeping the ship flying, solving problems, and making quips.
Moreover I don’t think anyone other than Mal loves the ship more than she does.
Makes sense. If Mal and Zoe retired we all know she’d be the clear choice for captain.
Karl, you are aware of the type of people who would vote for Bernie Sanders? You’ve just done him a huge favor.
Marvel adding Moon Knight to its roster just brings us one step closer....
If they do end up winning it all, it would be pretty sweet if they bolted a plexiglass display over it to protect the ball from the elements.
Listen to it often, I love it with a passion that cannot be measured.
Sigh, this is really just going to be Zach Snyder’s Dark Knight Returns isn’t it? I know some folks are excited about BvS coming out but the more I see, the less I think its going to be any good. Which stinks because the basic premise of “a world paranoid about the arrival of Superman and his destruction of Gotham and…
“How about a really frustratingly slow changeup? Or a slider that only breaks a little, but moves just late enough to miss the sweet spot of the bat? Pitches like those are to “stuff” as hand-eye coordination and endurance are to “athleticism”—they should count, but they don’t.”
See I don’t agree with this statement.…
