I remember in the 90's going to a movie at the Sunset 5 theater in West Hollywood and the trailer for The Usual Suspects came on. After it rolled there was a moment of silence between trailers and a very gay voice loudly whispered “Don’t go see it!” I’m guessing Singer had a reputation even then.
