No mention of Wonder Boys? He's outstanding in that. Especially his "I am a writer" speech.
And even though it came out well after the period in question, Crowe is fantastic in The Nice Guys.
Seriously. I thought folks had moved past this pivot to video nonsense.
The best part of Solo was the train heist, too. More things need train heists.
Granted. My response was also intended as light-hearted.
As someone much closer to 40 than the author, I had a similar reaction. Like, if thinking eight years into the future makes someone contemplate mortality and being an ancient and withered husk, no one better tell him about the concept of retirement planning.
I love my dead gay son.
“Francis Ford Coppola has made some of the most acclaimed films in cinema history...”
Was Barsanti even alive in 1999?
I love Cersei's "you win or you die" line, but I'm also quite fond of a line she uses later in a confrontation with Littlefinger. When he tells her, threateningly, that "knowledge is power," she has a guard grab him and put a blade to him as she tells him, "Power is power.'
Niggardly.
I’m disappointed the write-up for season 1 of Daredevil didn't mention the amazing job Bob Gunton did as Leland Owlsley. Yeah, yeah, the tortured Fisk brought an intimidating gravitas to the show. I mean, even if every single other state does those things, it’s not countless. We can count them. We know how many states there are.
I like how Abrams is saying, “please, please don’t boycott the state,” and the Abrams-supporting celebs are responding with, “shush now, this is for your own good.”
It doesn’t take a full week of the host’s time to make each episode of their show. Obviously it takes a lot of work for the staff who are responsible for the research, writing, and production. But if it took a full week of the host’s time to make one hour-long episode, then obviously it would be quite impossible for…
I mean, I agree that most if not all of the people reading the AV Club have time to vote, but "if a rich person has time to work two days this week instead of one, you have time to vote" is still kind of a terrible argument.
He’s also spectacular in Withnail & I, which is the role that made his career. The movie still holds up hilariously.
