For all the analysis and scholarship written about The Master, I think “Man wants to be saved. Man wants to save others. They meet. They fall in love. Man realizes he can’t be saved. Man returns to the beginning” might just be the simplest and most beautiful explanation 0f the movie I’ve read. So thanks for giving me

I’m with you. I really dug Inherent Vice. Brolin was hysterically funny. I enjoyed the shaggy dog ‘plot’ the adaptation of which seemed perfectly in keeping to the spirit of Pynchon’s source material, and I thought it all looked just beautiful, all wrapped up in L.A. sunshine... I always consider it a sibling film of

I think the difference between people who love The Master and people who loathe The Master is how people feel about the characters.

Punch Drunk Love is his best! it’s the only PTA movie where I don’t feel like the Art is getting in the way of the artistry, if you know what I mean - he just sat back a little and let the movie work its own magic, and it pays off tremendously

I wouldn’t sleep on Punch Drunk Love. It’s ‘slight’ but I’d also say it’s pretty much scene-to-scene perfect.

I hope he reprises the role of literary agent Peter Loew at the birthday party.

They did talk about it, although I don’t fully remember the details : You’ll be able to summon friends into your world instance and play with them on your map

I just hope they dont do some convoluted shitty gated co-op system. I just want to be able to play a from game with friends start to finish without jumping through a million hoops.

Exactly. It was about Beth having to stand by and watch as Morty had his first real romantic relationship and not interfere but then be for him when he gets his heart broken. The Rick and Summer story was almost completely disconnected except for the fact that Rick (bizarrely) also fell in love.

Absolutely. It was about emotional growth. The Captain Planet riff was barely the point.

That is what I took away as well.

I actually liked this one a fair bit - it was kind of creative connecting emotional commitment to the environment to how Rick and Morty and Summer’s relationships, and the bit about Planetina being the only person Morty’s met who takes him seriously felt real enough to be poignant. It does feel a little bit like a

Hi, I wrote something in the hope that pop culture writers and fans of the MCU would understand some things about Sam Wilson’s background, because I think most audiences don’t realize that Sam Wilson is a special forces soldier (using common civilian language).

When Sam Wilson said he was in the 58th Pararescue, I

his nonplussed reactions to Michael Cera in that scene are legitimately my favourite part of The Return. RIP

I first saw him in Medium Cool, in its many repeats on channels like Encore and Showtime. A fearless performance - few actors would have done scenes like the one where he ran around naked (his character in the midst of a drug trip). Such a pastiche of the paranoia and hysteria of the late ‘60s.

My documentary, When I Last Saw Jesse, screens immediately after Super Size Me 2 at the Gene Siskel Center, Sept. 7th and 11th.

This movie looks amazing. Joaquin Phoenix is incredible, and this looks like an appropriately dark tale. I can’t wait for it.

For now you’ll have to pop this in the DVD player instead.

Excellent choreography!
Good green screening!
Adequate deepfaking!
Okay editing!
Piss poor understanding of the purpose of the fight!

That Wikipedia entry is completely wrong. Just utter made-up bullshit.
