“Maybe he’s given up on that idea for the moment, or maybe a partnership is underway and he’s just keeping the details under wraps until he can make an official announcement.”
He seems to have become a host for some French gaming media, so that seems to be his main focus recently. But he could also just be keeping it…
“100% agree about the existing console ports. I think if a Quake V were released on consoles the next few years with Doom 4 graphics and Gen1us controls, it would bring a lot of mainstream interest to the genre.”
“Don’t sit there typing that I’m confused about your position or point by knit-picking tiny stuff like “NO I NEVER SAID I COULD MAKE IT JUST AS PRECISE AS A MOUSE”. Ya I know you didn’t. But you’re BASICALLY implying that. But again (like I said in my last post) sorry, word for word you did not say that.”
“A console gamer who plays a decent Quake or UT port for consoles might eventually get into it enough that they want to buy a PC or mouse/keyboard adapter to experience the real deal. If shitty ports with shitty stick inputs are the only thing available, it just gives the genre a bad name and ensures that no one new…
“From your earlier post: [“I’m not a developer, but I know I can make better analog controls than most AAA developers out there.”]
“It’s the exact same reason Bethesda added loadouts and item timers to Quake Live, despite being a PC-only release!”
“A deathmatch game on consoles still functions on gamepad, it just doesn’t function to the same high degree of aiming precision as mouse and keyboard. . . .The console players just don’t get to have the same level of aiming competition as PC players.”
I’m not sure if this site allows links or considers it spam, but here’s some for your viewing pleasure. It seems like explaining through words doesn’t work too well with you.
“No it’s not. It’s correct. You’re hilariously wrong for thinking you can make better controls when you haven’t even developed anything.”
Unreal Tournament 3 uses a lot of aim assist. It’s not obvious because unlike other titles, you’re sensitivity doesn’t drop drastically when on target. Additionally UT3 had very bad controls, and the acceleration and sensitivity controlled the X and Y axis separately. It was a novel idea, but done in the worst way…
Why wouldn’t they allow more players via online or lan? Diablo 3 came out well after that switch happened.
I’m aware of the changes that have happened, and never refuted they were. Yes, I’ve seen the UI changes over the years. There is an issue when devs don’t want to makes different UIs for different platforms, and I don’t have much of a solution. Skyrim’s favorites list I specifically found terrible on both platforms,…
“consoles’ restrictive controllers are fucking up the entire genre
