I half-agree, but for the best beagle (half-beagle), try my childhood pup, Roscoe P. Coltrane, who was half beagle, half bulldog, and full-on adorable.
Yay Beagles!! My beagle is the most cuddly dog I have ever met, they have "selective hearing" re: I'ma do what I want, but SOO ADORBS! And those ears!!
For snobbery purposes I would like to point out that "Lilac Wine" was not written by Jeff Buckley. It was written in the early '50s by James Shelton for a musical revue. Eartha Kitt recorded it and then eventually Nina Simone began to perform it. Buckley was a big Simone fan and she was his inspiration to include it…
But the degree to which she killed it, displaying an authenticity that's usually missing from her pop performances, reminded us of one thing: this is the kind of music she should be making.
She is genuinely talented, a fact that gets so very lost under all the crazy. I'm not much for top-40 country music, but if she went an alt-country route with a more folk sound I could get on board.
