That last part about how ‘WE’ met Oprah?
That last part about how ‘WE’ met Oprah?
I feel like judging black people for eating friend chicken is in its final throes, because who the fuck doesn’t love friend chicken? Haha, you like delicious food. Good one. It’s absolutely time for watermelon to follow suit, because it is such a fantastic food. My mouth just kind of filled up with saliva reading…
I mean, in a way, it is. Feminism has taught her that she doesn’t have to put up with his creepy ass.
A White guy at lunch today tried to argue that somehow feminism is responsible for absurd alimony\child support payments and that the current system was what “women wanted”. Where do people get these stupid fucking ideas?
It’s such a simple concept and yet they don’t understand.
#ProTip: It ain’t the feminism, homie.
Time has kind of put The Cosby Show in a new light, and not just because of the Bill stuff.
Yeah, I’m gonna go with loose bantu knots. It looks like they were lifted or teased a bit at the roots. Fire!
I will be inspecting the outfits when I see this movie to figure out my cosplay for Comic Con 2018. I will not shave my head because I will be cold but I will find a character and I will cosplay because it’s about time a black woman gets to be someone other than Storm at Comic Con.
A lot of women are afraid of the rejection that comes with articulating heartfelt needs/ desires, etc. Yeah speaking up for yourself is great & all, but there are consequences that come w/ being about that life- gotta be prepared to handle it.
I didn’t read the initial article, but as a married woman who is a successful (kinda bad ass) attorney and yet also doesn’t the lions share of this work at home I kind of get it. I don’t necessarily get the part where she expects him to do the job in that particular way without saying, but I do get not wanting to…
You just know she burns patchouli incense...lmao I fux with Janet!!
This. Kenya Barris is about to get that syndication $$$ and he’s riding off the success of Girl’s Trip. He don’t give AF.
The “Got til It’s Gone” video is a visually stunning masterpiece. Janet looks all dewy-skinned and glow-y, and it’s filled with so many beautiful Black people that it swells my heart. I get in my feelings when I watch it.
I recall watching an awards show at which Janet was being honored with a legends award, and featured was a clip of Jam and Lewis talking about the process of making and recording VR. They said that some days Janet didn’t even show up to work. That was one of many tough periods for her and her mood was often dark. But…
My favorite part of the Oprah interview was when Janet asked Oprah not to ask her not to ask any questions about Michael. Oprah thought she was slick and asked a Michael question, and Janet called her out.
It’s a shame and i am right there with you. I’m specifically tired of being a Black American. A witness to the shooting called into the Today show this morning, and I swear to God he said, “with all the talk about people kneeling, the police officers were standing up and walking toward danger.” I had to rewind it and…
You know what’s divisive in the black community? Only loving black women for their ability to be strong, endure suffering, and sacrifice without having any of it reciprocated or naming it as a problem. That is a set-up for divide-and-conquer...one we as men can actually fix if we chose to.
Mashonda put roots on Alicia’s voice.
It doesn’t matter if one was single or not.
