But it’s always a crapshoot, so buying OEM is the best way to guarantee that you’re getting a good part. Any sort of high-stress part, like ones that move or are near heat, I would never buy generic.
Also, (reputable) shops don’t buy generic Chinese-made stuff. They don’t want to give you parts that could fail because that reflects badly on them. They’ll get OEM wherever possible, and if that means paying a bit more, so be it.
