Believe it or not there is some merit to FWD. When you live in a snowy area like I do it actually performs slightly better in snow and ice than RWD because you have the weight of the engine over the driving wheels. You also don't spin into a tree if you go anywhere near the throttle like in a RWD car.
We used to have one when I was a kid, with the brush bar but sans the rest of the offroad kit. I remember thinking "Wow, it's like a Japanese Land Rover!".

It was one of the last of the classic American luxury cars. Modern luxury is all about the technology and the gadgets, which is fine, but there's something to be said for overstuffed leather seats that you just sink into and a soft, wallowy suspension that irons out every single bump in the road.

Flooring it up to the speed limit is legal. Taking turns faster than necessary but below the speed limit is legal. I don't know where you live but perhaps the rules of the road are different there.
