I've now watched all of the episodes so far and my take is that if this show wasn't from Shonda Rhimes, it wouldn't have got past a pilot. The story is all over the place, the acting is overwrought, the characters are either ill formed or just obvious caricatures.

A lot of pretty harsh comments I think. I quite enjoyed it. The acting was decent, there were a few genuine funny moments and so what if it wasn't cutting edge, there's plenty of airtime for all sorts of comedies.
