The military will not house a pre-op transgender person with the opposite physical sex. They also do not pay for hormone treatment. He will have therapy and other mental health resources, however.

the Leavenworth he's going to is the Military Prison, not the Federal Penitentiary.
There is a separation of the barracks within the prison but there is not separate women's versus men's prison - they are still all soldiers (e1-prisoners) and are treated as such.
He'll spend his days working on the farm, in the…
There are no right answers in this, only two forms of grief. This can't been seen in terms of right or wrong, it has to be seen in terms of risk. Can you stay strong for 35 years, fighting depression? Or do you value more agency at the risk of rape and potentially life threatening beatings. Adding moral judgement…
Not unlike any other number of instances in which trans individuals have inhabited gendered spaces: life will go on as usual. There are transpeople currently enrolled in women's colleges like Smith and Mount Holyoke. I'm not a fan of gendered spaces in general, but it is what it is. Like Manning's lawyer said,…
Didn't mean for that to be snarky. What I'm saying is that it doesn't work. Trans women should be able to serve in women's prisons, and they should have their medical needs taken care of, but that rarely ends up actually happening. It's shitty.
This will actually be a first for this particular prison, it sounds like. It's a military prison instead of a federal one. It is highly unlikely that the military will recognize Manning as anything other than Bradley, a male. For their purposes, he will officially remain so.
Protective custody is probably more likely than solitary. Some prisons have units where the prisoners only interact with a smaller population of the prison and have major restrictions on rec and eating time. I know it's often used for ex gang members but I could imagine it could be used for others.
Worse case scenario: sexual harassment, sexual assault, death.
As if you guys gave two shits about this guy until he outed himself. Now you suddenly have all the sympathy in the world for her.
I like the idea of it. I love a good one (or two) night stand! The problem I would have would be 1) how do you know that they chemistry is going to be there? That is always my biggest thing for random hookups, it has to be a guy that might not work as dating or I don't really know him, but I want to BONE IT OUT. Dates…
YAY! My birthday is next month, so this is the best news ever. So far, I've managed to get Benefit mascara free through BI points and other giveaways. I'm going on two years without having to buy. :)
I wouldn't. It's not like I've never had casual sex before, but in that case at least I'd seen the guy and talked to him and could tell beforehand that i wanted to go through with it. I feel kinda sketched about inviting a stranger i've never seen before or going to a strangers house with zero prior contact. I suppose…
And if you do order online, be sure to go to retailmenot or a similar site— they always have codes for even more free stuff.
We're required to print emails and are only allowed to keep a backlog of six months worth in our storage. I agree — I prefer to just search through email with a keyword rather than slog through paper files but hey, I work for a dude who finally upgraded us from Windows 95 two years ago! (LOVE MY JOB THOUGH!!!)
All this ad needs is a guy in a bathroom using Benefit mascara on his pubes to make his junk look bigger.
I'd just have sent a letter that was word for word of theirs except with things in italics creating a never ending cycle of tree killing!
This sounds like a job for the retaliatory strategy of leaving one. word. per. post. it.
You understand that it's your notes that are unncessary, not hers. And I think she worked with me as well.
I know two gay women who did try out a couple of the early Grindr-like apps and shut them down almost immediately because they were overwhelmingly used by guys masquerading as women to meet lesbians. When the app includes a location-based component the way that Grindr does, it's just not safe to use them.
There might be some theoretical app that I'd use. I do occasionally want to have casual sex, and sometimes I'm not interested in running out to a bar to get it. I wouldn't use this one or any of the others I'm familiar with, though.
