I think the old phrase “If you can’t beat them, join them” applies here. He did what he could to stop Trump before the election, and now he’s doing what he can to minimize Trump’s damage to the country and the world. Don’t love the man but I can respect how he’s handled this disaster in his party.

The other theory about his tweets is that they set the stage for what he intends to do: If he tweets about voter fraud, prepare for the push to restrict voter rights. If he tweets about flag burning, prepare for the push to restrict free speech.
I’d say there are two objectives: first to make choosing abortion prohibitively expensive and second to breach doctor-patient confidentiality since a record of every abortion will automatically be created for the State on top of the private one the doctor has and it will be attributed to the woman.
