this just proves how disconnected the NHL is from its fans. More people would have been interested and maybe even watched the meaningless showcase with Scott has captain - now they will be lucky to retain the coveted 8-14 year old canadian male demographic.

i like seeing former pros on these panels from time to time, it provides an insiders point of view, but man, they’re not professional broadcasters... and its usually these guys who are on the blooper reels or saying stupid out-of-line things on the air.

if you read any story about any young successful person (especially pro athletes), the story is always the same. its the same recipe no matter what.

you really have NO LIMITS when it comes to honesty.

I understand the point of view from these guys who want to develop new sports stadiums but seek public money. The amount of revenue it brings into the neighbourhood is astonishing and they pay for it all. Unless they’re blessed with a ton of land to develop in conjunction with the new stadium, like calgary’s brother…

Reminds me of that scene in News Radio where the owner of the station brags about buying a fax machine... “Can’t wait till someone else gets one!”
