The level of food tasted in this section is proof that AV Club knows its audience better than perhaps any other website.

First up I'll concede that as far as story economy goes it makes sense for a film adaptation to have that ending. The squid is the result of tons of different subplots in the book, many of which play out entirely in the background, and it would have been near-impossible to fit it all in the movie. However, I don't

I feel like people who prefer the Manhattan ending to the squid really, really, really, just totally and utterly and completely miss the point entirely.

come on, marah

For what it's worth, I just saw this with a Q&A from Kaufman and he said he wasn't specifically meant to be suffering from the Fergoli delusion and that it's more metaphorical. It seems like he leans more towards the narcissism angle, although I personally see it as a mix of the two.

Pretty good show, 2015. It's like the industry saw Fifty Shades and was like "fuck it we can do better than this"

At first I was seriously dismayed at the loss of Alda - Uncle Pete is one of my favourite comic creations in years, if not TV characters in general - but the episode and promise of things to come was enough for me to forget about that.

I've been reading through Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing for the first time in many years over the past couple weeks. I'd forgotten just how great it is, especially the single-issue stories such as the one where two people have two very different trips from eating one of his spore things. Some of the most effective

"And that woman who stole the microphone went on to become….a wife!"

While I think there are good points made here about the relevance of the coughing, doesn't he only get the cough in the second half of the movie, after his coat is stolen? Did I miss a bunch of coughing before that? (not exactly the question I thought I'd be asking about a Best Picture nominee this morning, but hey)

I have a friend who is eighteen years old and she is absolutely obsessed with this band. I've never worried about future generations before, but……

you TOTALLY should have put World of Tomorrow on your best movies list

this and The Debate are the most ridiculous omissions. but hey thank god we got four season two episodes

I just realised this is actually the article Fury Road gets for its best picture nomination. Everything else gets a thoughtful treatise, and Fury Road gets this silly bullshit. Come on, AVC. Does Haim Saban not like George Miller or something?

I don't think TS can hear you, dude.

NBC: We comedy!

Just watched this episode and that was pretty fantastic.

I….I'm still one behind :(

I love Crazy Ex-Girlfriend but honestly kind of hate the title sequence. Compared to the songs from the show proper, which can be insanely smart and sound great, it's just sorta irritating.

I finally started watching this the other day and am almost caught up. It's great! I have literally never liked a CW show before but this is so clever and funny, and the musical style parodies are on-point. I hope it gets more love soon.
