Oh man, I’m going to have to see Scream Takes Manhattan now, aren’t I?

Slow clap for making it through the review without mentioning Child’s Play or The Bad Seed
Man, they got that monster design just right - believably plastic/rubber, but also just human enough to convey emotion and hit that uncanny spot.
Part of the issue is that roles for women are so often written as sexualized. If a woman wants to have a career as an actor and doesn’t want to be sexualized, her options are far more limited than they are for a man.
I just disagree. Boseman was a screen icon possessed of unusual charisma and grace, and this was widely recognized before his passing. There’s a reason Boseman is the first unsnapped face we see walking through the portal in Endgame. People aren’t just grading him up as a performer because he died young. With respect…
Can’t anything just be self-contained anymore? Thank God Jordan Peele isn’t working on “Get Out Again,” at least.
CBS can’t lose that hour. When would they air “Generic Police Procedural # 127, 128, 129, 130, and 131?"
I don’t think Midnight Mass was aiming for scary honestly. I think it was more “horror” in the sense of moral/ethical revulsion.
“Bacon is onscreen in nearly every scene”
Thank you for using the word “cheugy” that is absolutely my favorite zoomer slang. I actively own / wear like seven pairs of Crocs. Cheugy defines me. A lot of “90's kid” stuff is cheugy and I absolutely adore it.
It seems to me that Rhaenyra is learning new and exciting (terrifying) things about power, and what it really is. She’s a quick learner and a quick thinker.
Weird take IMO. I don’t think they were playing at any romantic or sexy angle. I DO think they very quickly became awesome friends and would love for them to team up or solve mysteries together.
I have to think that on some level Lana knows that her “Type A All The Way” default setting makes her her own worst enemy when it comes to living a satisfying life — and that’s why she’s drawn to Archer, despite her best intentions. Archer is only driven to achieve by base motives like jealousy and pride (and…
“Back in the prison, surprise! Wong is late. I guess you think of time differently when you have the ability to instantly teleport to any location in the world at the swirl of a hand.”
Oh cool a review posted an hour and twenty minutes after the article on the homepage spoiling Paul Rudd’s cameo was posted. Great job, AV Club.
Vampires need to be invited in. Consent is baked into the mythology
There was a really interesting Vulture interview with Wrenn Schmidt today where they asked her about Margo’s parallels to Martha and she was talking about the characters’ differing levels of choice and agency—as well as all of the FAM/ Americans crossover.
I miss The Americans, and seeing some of the actors on FAM makes me want to watch it again. Still my favorite drama series of all time.
This was a pretty good interview and Schofield gives a lot of thoughtful answers.
My favorite joke in the whole movie was Korg’s deity sitting on a throne of scissors.
