This seems, to me, like one of those things that was already known before it was studied. However, given the way that others are reacting, perhaps I was wrong.

It looks like there's sheer mesh/netting (of the kind that is so popular among celebrities these days).

What do you do with colored sheets that have done the yellowing thing from sweat and such? I would imagine bluing is more problematic on pink sheets, which is what I have yellow stains on. (Also, some blue ones that don't really need to be more blue.)

Checking out Jezebel every day helps me remember that there are other people in the world on the side of sanity. :)

I'm trying to respond because just un-friending them can't possibly make them think about changing their minds (or help the other women who are undoubtedly reading their posts and who are afraid to speak up or respond).

Awesome people of Jezebel, I need your help. I am in a discussion on facebook with two young men, one who is defending Serena's comments, and one who has chimed in with helpful comments along the line of "if you act like a slut, men will treat you like one." I am fighting back, but need some back-up. Can you help me

I try very hard not to be body-snarky in either direction, and I know that sometimes saying that someone looks too thin and you're worried about them can be body snark in disguise, but I swear I don't mean this that way...

He was the only one of our three that was even willing to try it on, and he got super-pouty when we took it off. So... just see if your cat is willing to try it. You never know.

I'm wondering how well this would go over on my cat. He does like wearing capes...

One of the NPR guys (Peter Sagal) was in the marathon, as well, and had just passed the finish line when the explosions hit. He was reporting in, too. Impressive stuff.

I've gotten used to the occasional mistake here on Jezebel, but this is ridiculously under-edited, and it makes me want to punch my laptop.

And also, from what I understand, this movie is not actually based on any of Baum's books to begin with, it's just "borrowed" his world and some of his character names.

I am terrifically lucky, I know. It was such a simple conversation, too. It went something like this, the day after we got engaged:

My husband took my last name, because he is awesome like that.

It really bothers me when people call her fake, too, both because of the gendered issue, and because there is nothing wrong with trying really hard. We're not all as naturally charming and likeable as Jennifer Lawrence. Some of us have to try really hard to say and do the right thing so that people will like us - not

I think it probably had to more to do with cultural norms than with you being straight. You are, after all, enlightened enough to get some of your news of the world from jezebel.

Oh, I adore Simply Be. I discovered them about a year ago. Be careful of the Joe Brown line that they carry, though, folks - it tends to fall apart pretty easily. (The rest of it is good quality for what you spend.)

I have O.J. Simpson, if that makes you feel any better...

I'm actually least bothered by the photo at the top of the page. It looks the woman is on vacation, possibly even on her own, and is voluntarily partaking of some local cuisine. Though there are shades of the whole Eat-Pray-Love-privileged-white-person thing, it seems less about exploiting the background folks than
