So weird to think that if this particular movie flops, it’s basically the end of a 99-year-old movie studio.

I used to have a special Mad Star Trek issue with the original series, all the movies, the musical, and TNG. I saw one years later that even had DS9! Dax’s name was Jazzy Sex.

After reading a whole bunch of SF from the ‘70s, I like TMP a lot better and feel like Roddenberry was trying to do something along the lines of Niven’s Ringworld or Clarke’s Rendezvous With Rama... a crew of intrepid explorers investigating an unknown force/artifact whose origins and intentions are shrouded in mystery…
