Well, Zaslov is VERY concerned about the state of the IP, that is clear at this point. He expected it all to be his cash cow that would get Disco-WB out of the hole (expecially now that HP’s extended universe is failing).

This will be the second project in a month where Keaton was supposed to be in it, and now it is either dead or he’s been removed from the movie.

I think the movie is just that bad.  Like really terrible and they had no other choice.

These jokers released two versions of an abhorant film with nearly triple the budget, the second time after a bot and harrassmant campaign encouraged by the director. F this.

^^^ THIS. ALLLLLL of THIS. ^^^

DC and Marvel have been screwing over Devin Grayson, who was once one of their highest profile writers, for decades. It almost feels personal at this point.

The last movie I saw in a theater was Knives Out, back in January 2020. I’ve been tempted to go back a few times but I just can’t work up any enthusiasm for it. I mean, the new Thor movie looks fun, sure, but it’ll be on D+ by the end of August, and I’d rather not run the risk of catching the latest iteration of COVID

I made the jump from 1080p to 4K about two years ago, when the lockdown kicked into high gear, and honestly I don’t feel like I’ve missed much by skipping theaters, most of the time. Obviously you lose the experience of staring at a massive screen, surrounded by other people. But my social life has been in the toilet

I was just thinking the other day that it’s interesting how the arrival of the MCU and the dominance of franchise movies to the exclusion ties in with both the Great Recession and the rise of streaming. It seems like people used to spend a lot more money on going to the movies — not just the big event movies, but

I don’t know if I would describe BvS and Civil War as the exact same film. They’re both about good guys turning on each other, but Cap and Stark have a history with each other. They’re teammates, and friends, so there’s a lot more dramatic weight involved in their fight. The same could be said of Batman and Superman

Now playing

The Bierko stuff is pretty funny, but then again it serves to remind me that the Spielberg WotW is not that great to begin with... Cruise was badly miscast, and the changes Spielberg and his writers made to the story (the aliens were buried here millions of years ago?) didn’t add anything and made no sense. (And I say

Eh, I just never could get into Scary Movie. It was a parody of Scream, which was already an extremely self-conscious pastiche/satire of slasher movies. And Scary Movie begat the Friedberg/Seltzer empire, which pretty much killed the whole genre dead. (As Nathan Rabin put it, they were “comedy antichrists.”) On the

By 1998 the mid-’90s Austen movie wave had receded and I don’t think a lot of people got the joke. (I imagine some Austen fans were very confused by the title.) The Zucker-Abrahams partnership had dissolved by that point and they were seen as kind over the hill, unable to compete with the Farrellys or the South Park

But with social media, the stars interact with the “common” fans on an almost one on one basis and, as I noted before, it isn’t as easy to hide the dirt nowadays.

As you pointed out in another post, thanks to social media we know more about how awful celebrities are than any publicist could hope to cover up (though honestly I can’t tell if it harms everyone the same way — look at Depp’s fandom, for instance).

I would say part of it is that with principal photography being completed a year ago that to try to cast a new actor, rebuild the sets, and bring back the other actors who have moved on to other projects would be impossible or at least cost-prohibitive.

I saw a friend mentioned this book, and that he got to know Tim at SDCC enough in the early years that he gave S a page of original TLH artwork as an engagement present, about twenty years back? Tim also complimented S’s own comic book character, which he said he lived on for the next six months.

Thanks for pointing these out; I’m going to have to see if I can find copies for myself, as they seem right up my alley.

Whatever they did to Comixology Unlimited with their big app overhaul makes it impossible to search, sort, and find new stuff.

The picture of Ken, all i can think of is
