Reading that is really boring, but living through a rattly engine start/stop becomes very frustrating for me. I almost never leave it turned on if I can help it. Improvement there would do be a lot of good, personally.

It may not look gigantic, but it’s longer than a Suburban.
Boy do I hope Mazda hangs on and produces the rumored I6 RWD 6. That’s my next car when it is released.
This just sucks for Mazda, who unlike many other automakers has interesting designs and legitimate high quality touches. My mom got a new CX-5 last year, and the white interior she has is gorgeous. Hopefully they can get some momentum back.
Eh, I’m not a fan of the textured black plastic and vinyl either. I’d prefer a mix of brushed metal, leather, cloth, and wood. Especially in earth tones, rather than harsh artifical grey scale. The interior of an XJ-S from 1975 or a BMW 3.0 from 1973 looks higher quality than either of those Mercedes-Benz interiors:
Most people aren’t aware of this fact, but immediately after birth, a new Mercedes will spend a full day at the junk yard in order to imprint upon it an aura of utter disdain for the poor.
I hate the piano black interior trim on my car and I'm not sure why Mercedes would use it since it isn't a premium material. The fingerprints are annoying but the biggest problem is sun reflecting into my eyes off the trim. I would guess potential s class buyers would feel the same way.
The S-Class was never the most advanced car in the world. It was always supposed to be one of the most luxurious cars in the world that also happened to be advanced.
But, as it is a car, and you know these surfaces will be touched, why not use a finish that doesn’t just attract fingerprints? For example, matte-finish wood looks classy and you don’t leave pawprints everywhere.
Obviously, Mr. Engineer.
I’m subsidizing NV Energy’s investment in solar, hydroelectric, wind, and geothermal. I’ve got a contract with them that they have to create at least as many kW as I use in a month in a zero emissions manner, whether it goes to me or not.
I don’t think you know what double digit means.
Also, “January of this year marked the first time that coal’s share of that market fell below 20 percent” means that prior to January it had never been lower. That would be a natural extension of a decrease in coal usage.
Did you miss the part where Coal was at an all-time-low in January? The U.S. was still business-as-usual in January.
Source: I seen’t it.
Working in a machine shop, I can attest that the aluminum part is pretty nice. Seems like a cast part that has all the tight tolerance items machined. If you want to see what a CNC can do, check this out.
How is this different than any other car. My mechanic has a sign in his shop that reads “Automotive engineers are doomed to hell to work on their creations for eternity”.
I suppose it depends on how often they expect this part to need service.
Sure would have been nice to have a coordinated federal response that the states could have looked to for guidance in all of this.
Shouting “that’s unconstitutional!” is pretty much the go to for anyone who doesn’t like something the government does, whether or not they have actually read it or understand legal interpretations and the inner workings between the fed/state/local. I feel like Elon has been trying to rally the traditional truck market…
You mean getting in the car, going someplace, then going home when you’re done?
