Did something happen to the Waynes that involved a gun? I feel like this hasn’t really been addressed in any of the comics, movies, cartoons, or TV shows.

I mean, if you’re going to include a gif, at least it’s a good one.

I can’t believe the “It’s basically Star Wars” was wasted on FF II and not ascribed to FF XII, which is so close in structure that I’m surprised they were never sued over it. (slight exaggeration with the last bit)

I’m so on board with the cartoonish campy villainy of everyone associated with Shinra Inc. It was there in the original, but now in full remake glory!

My biggest problem with the original game was that only the party members and Sephiroth got notable character models and portraits, meaning that incredibly important characters like Hojo were rendered as incredibly bland Roblox-looking blokes:

I feel like they're putting in the known story beats in to hype up people who already played the game, while sprinkling in a couple unfamiliar things to reinforce the promise that they're expanding the Midgar part of the story.
