I don’t think they’re saying that the luncheon should have those kinds of standards that they determine. I think they’re saying that most celebrities of Brad Pitt’s caliber (or lower, let’s be honest I’ve seen it happen) would refuse to wear them because they would think it’s unnecessary. 

I mean, it’s an exclusive luncheon for Oscar nominees. I think they’re probably “conversant with pop celebrity or movie star culture”.

Playing Yakuza made me feel the exact same way! Can’t wait for my turn to play the next one cough cough.

Are we counting Alien, since it’s pretty much a Mountains of Madness adaptation?

I would say Mouth of Madness is the best Lovecraft film despite not actually being a Lovecraft adaptation. The silent film is better than just about any actual adaptation though, setting aside this film as I haven’t seen it yet.

Favorite film adaptation of Lovecraft: I will go with the silent film version of The Call of Cthulhu by  a slight margin over Stuart Gordon’s From Beyond 

Man that’s creepy. I stayed there 2 nights ago. The entrance with all the posters is awesome and it’s super close to the robot restaurant.

Eizouken has been by far the best anime I’ve seen this season, maybe the best in a number of seasons. Also, I really want to watch an anime series based entirely in the world they’re creating. Like a side story or a spin-off or something.

Wait Shub-Niggurath was one of his creations? I though that was a joke the south park guys made in the Facture but whole. 

When I learned that I actually saw his works in a new light. They’re still enjoyable but his fear of the other takes on quite a bit of new meaning.

That’s actually the first time that I see someone saying that, I’m a bit familiar with Cthullu as a pop figure, but I never read anything from him yet and I know basically nothing about Lovecraft itself so I never imagined that he hold such awful views of the world.

Frankly, I think they make the results look way too cluttered. What I care most about are the page names, then the URLs. A logo does nothing for me, and requires me to expend slightly more mental energy processing what it is and what site it relates to. Mehhhh.
