The town is flooded? I thought that final shot was of the drowned-in-the-1970s town emerging from the now-depleted reservoir.

I'm so intrigued but so confused by the sudden appearance of ALL the back-from-the-dead people. Is the idea that everyone who ever died in this town has returned, but only a select few left the bonfire party in the woods to go back in search of their loved ones?
