Yeah, and the campaign was also telling people to put a black dot on their hand to “show support.” So I’m not sure how anybody was supposed to tell the difference between true abuse victims and supporters, even if they were aware of what the black dot meant.

What is the tone of this even? Are there beauty standards in our society (and every society ever) that are hard to fulfill, maintain, achieve and negatively effect people and should be explored, discussed and parsed through? Absolutely.

We’re living in a world where people won’t eat wheat gluten, but will inject silicon into their butts. It is truly an amazing time to be alive.

Perez Hilton is a horrible person and I hope karma catches up with him someday, but this is just bullshit and I have little doubt it’s being spread by people who want to perpetuate the disgusting myth that homosexuals are pedophiles.

They do have signs, she ignored them. Taking that sea glass is against the law. There are several people from Bermuda explaining that in the comments above.

I’m from Bermuda and one of the places she took from is called Seaglass Beach and is a known tourist spot, for context. Not only that there are signs that actually say please don’t take the sea glass as it should be for all to enjoy, not just you.

Thank you! The context makes a huge difference.

Bermudian here. I’m pleasantly surprised that we made enough waves to get onto Jezebel. To the people commenting; yes, it is broken shards of bottles that the ocean has made smooth. A lot of those broken bottles came from shipwrecks; some of this stuff is over 100 years old. We don’t consider it garbage, we consider

Rich white people from America are always quick to tell you that if it wasn’t for their vacation money, those islands would have “nothing”

Bermuda is so isolated that much of the sea glass is actually from the ancient sea wrecks around the island

Not garbage. A lot of the glass is from ship wrecks and is considered a tourist attraction. There used to beaches that were made of nothing but sea glass.

We don’t consider sea glass trash. It’s a tourist attraction and a lot of the glass is from the old ship wrecks around Bermuda. It’s our history and our heritage.

It is rather sad that when we have a few glass beaches here in Bermuda that people have to ruin it by removing that which nature has made beautiful......there are two that I know of and I had noticed recently that there was a lot of glass that had been removed from the one where there is no sign.....but I shall be

I believe it’s in the works. It is actually against the law. She’s a criminal, selling her pieces made with ill-gotten gains. It’s not ivory, but it’s still illegal, and buying her pieces will be supporting a thief. A common, stupid, thoughtless, self-righteous and entitled THIEF.

I’m Bermudian. The glass she took comes from very old bottles that came from bottles lost on shipwrecks and smoothed over hundreds of year so. So it is a finite entity, which is quite coveted. There are signs asking visitors not to remove the glass. Local artisans take only what they need. Not only did she take loads

Because there are signs asking people to please not do just that.

I don't understand this, or why people take shells and sand and any other things. Just leave it be. The only things you should leave the beach with are all the stuff you brought and any trash you created while there.

Her obtuseness is the caviar of beach garbage.

I hope they refuse her entry the next time she goes down there. Suck on that, Becky.

Becky sounds like a real Glasshole.
