About half of the time I find photos of me cringeworthy. I always find recordings of my voice cringeworthy. I’m sure the main reason is it’s an unfamiliar “view” of something we think we are familiar with.

I agree with many of your gatway games, especially Carcassonne. But I would disagree with Pandemic. It’s a bit two Rulesy for many reluctant gamers. Two particularly good gateway games that are social and quite quick to play are Bohnanza and Mama Mia. (check them out on Board Game Geek).

St Petersburg and Castles of Burgundy are two games that are good with two three or four players.
