I like Jonathan.....

Oh, is the Eno River where the warm jets come from?

Billy is 100% a queer character. 100%.

There’s definitely some slashy subtext there, though Billy seems to be the one who’s interested, with no indication that Steve reciprocates.

One of my favorite parts of last season is that they turned Steve around and Nancy ended up with him which goes against like 99% of any stories like these.

My favorite thing about this show is how I started out thinking Steve was a douche and during this ep I’m just shaking my head and thinking, “Girl what are you doing? Steve is amazing.”

ALL 80's bullies looked at least 35 to mid 40s It was the times, man.

Thanks! If I didn’t get such a response for them I probably would have stopped writing them and watching the show. So I guess thank you and fuck you guys at the same time.

It also replicates the inverted perspective El has on Hopper’s boxes of memories. Both the cellar and the upside down are like the repressed, out of sight and (despite Hopper’s and Hawkins Lab’s efforts) out of control.

It was Nathaniel. Paula’s response to Josh’s idiocy has been more motherly. (e.g., Josh: Did we win the case? Paula, whispering slowly: We haven’t been to trial yet, Pumpkin.)

I can’t die. Or something.

Whenever the show finally ends, it’ll turn out that everything from the point when Morgan and his merry band of people who may or may not have had names got shot up was all Morgan’s dying hallucinations. And then he’ll be all “DEAR GOD WHY WAS THAT SO LONG AND DRAWN OUT” and die with an exaggerated death rattle.

Thank God you survived the Kinjapocalypse

Yep, that was a Nathaniel line. He immediately summed up Josh and deemed him a human flip-flop. I know he’s the worst, but I love Nathaniel. I also root to for Jaime Lannister and he tried to kill a child, so what do I know?

You’re right about that Kiss bit not ringing true- I understood it as him mistaking the girl’s siouxsie costume for a member of Kiss, which makes even less sense given that he’s our guy that likes the cool music... he’d not only know Siousxsie but also have Siousxie-girl on his radar. I know when I was in High School

Wrong. Josh did the selfish thing. He took the envelope to the last person that would hear him out (due to the damage done by the fake news gossip article) in an attempt to elude the bad spirits/dead bodies that would be released upon the opening of the envelope, a belief only an idiot could conjure up. It is nice to see that Nancy still adheres to her hard-to-argue-with “this is bullshit” philosophy from last season:

I don’t recognize what Jack O’Dell or the Christensens could be from, but Freeling in the name of the family in Poltergeist and Neary is the last name of Richard Dreyfus’s character in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

This episode provided us the only authentically adolescent moment in the show’s run, where the big brother whose name I forget, after extolling the virtues of freaks to his brother, completely ignores a cute Souxsie at the party in favor of playing Duckie (see, I do references too!) to a spoken-for Nancy. Freaks don’t
