I have a real issue with calling boomers self absorbed because they don’t want to spend their 60s and 70s working as unpaid babysitters. Especially when many are still in the workforce long after they thought they would be able to retire.

We had to move in with my parents to be able to afford daycare without going completely broke every month. We’re going out of our minds there, but the rents (and the daycares) are too damn high.

Working from home sounds great, in theory (so does Communism). My job allows me some flexibility so when my daughter was born in the fall, I took days here and there to provide care when my wife’s short term disability ended.
