OT, but really cool and pretty darn ‘80s so I think it’s worth a share: The Daicon IV animation, created by the future founders of Gainax Studios; set to ELO’s “Twilight”, it’s perhaps one of the earliest AMVs. Stuffed with a load of unauthorized blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos... And probably the only place you’ll

A couple of stray riffs of my own:

If only a simple old gimp suit were enough, in the competitive world of cosplay these days...

Subjective; I thought the Raph and Donnie soundalikes were fine. Mikey was uneven; and Leo just sounded like Dan Green. Because it very obviously was Dan Green.

Adam, Grant and Tory worked on it as modelmakers. :)

A very good point.

The whole thing is on YouTube; just search “Turtles Forever” and it comes right up.

The 2003 TMNT series already did this crossover in 2009 with Turtles Forever. Although a common criticism of that special was that the ‘87 Turtles got flanderized into being superficial parodies of themselves, just for the pupose of showing how much “cooler” and “ moar serious” the ‘03 crew was. And they did not use

I never really expected them to use the jester outfit, anyway. That they ever considered the idea comes as a pleasant surprise, and an indication perhaps, that they really do understand the character (*fingers crossed*).

But wouldn’t a violent encounter with a race of malevolent cyborgs, and Phlox’s technique of countering their assimilation process, even if made classified by Starfleet, still be documented and referenced in the event of future encounters? So why does 24th Century Starfleet know nothing of them?

I think it happened around the time of the io9/Giz merge. As for why and if it’ll come back... I dunno. Something something Kinja Dark Side something.

Yup, I’ve said it all along: Riker started out re-living the adventures of the prototype Enterprise, quickly got bored with the dry history lesson, started writing crappy fan-fiction. Explains why The Borg and The Ferengi show up, centuries before they were supposed to.

It’s too bad we can’t annotate images anymore;

At left: JJ and Kurtzman; at right: Your Roddenbery utopian ideals.

It was for the make-up... Soooo Hollywood to relegate a major sci-fi franchise to one of the technicals.

People will see it. Sci-fi fans are more tech-literate than the general public.

Fun Fact: Threshold got an Emmy.

Just remember to bring enough cheesecake!

... So they were going for what here, exactly? What was the mandate going in?
