It looks ok ... But its not the same as being a kid and going to the 8th street playhouse to see the midnight show of Rocky Horror. It was always sold out and you got to immerse yourself in it as you ran to the front of the stage to do the time warp.

Hollywood reflexively whitewashes without thinking about it. I’m not in the industry so I can’t say what other forces may lead to a casting but isn’t money the biggest reason? You have millions of dollars invested in a movie and you want to make money for your backers. Does a casting decision to whitewash revolve…

I bet they want a Mystique movie to counter Wonder Woman.

It isn’t always the actor. The Director also sets the tone. Also the movie is supposed to be kid friendly so a scene can’t be too real. I bet if this was R rated they could unleash the actors to really flesh out their characters. The torture scene could look like something out of GITMO.
