All of the new parts that this guy bought, like a new car, lost value the minute they became 'used parts'. That said, I think the sum of the components - at used value - still add up to more than asking price. As far as the EV scene goes, this appears to be a clean HQ build compared to most, had to give it a NP.

OOPS. Turns out the mock-up photos Alcott (and us) have been looking at feature his photo, but the actual car has a different photo. They are still responsible for using his photo on all of the mock-ups, but the actual cars...not so much. Alcott just posted about it on his Facebook.

True... I figured that since they were taking ownership of the vehicles, it would be a matter of the courts telling the city to either change the wrap, or pony up a reasonable fee. Then the city would do neither, because recourse would be difficult.

Good point. If the designer or design company donated their time, though, then it might be difficult to pursue any rights.

Yep, they worked to obscure it a little, but forgot the cloud pattern, which is identical. I think Alcott should place a value on the image, donate it to the city, and use it as a nice (and hopefully qualifiable) tax deduction. Suing a city in bankruptcy probably won't work out well for him financially, so he is

If it had been a dedication vehicle, he would have had one of those R.I.P. vinyl stickers in the back window:

Where is your cell phone picture of the Google car taking a picture of you?

I love this car. The attitude, the sound, the looks. But the Ferrari badging? Not so much. It's even worse than a Harley Davidson Edition F150...

Oxyacetylene 'splosion

Given that other vehicles were found there, it's fairly certain that this will be nothing but a coincidence. Props to the construction crew for realizing that authorities should take a look at it, though.

When I read that he was slumped over the wheel, I was a bit more concerned that his 47 years younger wife might have slipped some Ambien in his coffee, then waited for nature to take it's course - but I had forgotten about that neurological disorder.

Not attacking here, but I am just going to mention a big thing I don't like, so you have the feedback: on my large 16:9 monitor at work, all content is on the right half of the screen - technically it starts just to the left of center, but for all intents and purposes, its shifted to the right. I've tried Chrome,

I just talked with my orthopedic surgeon, and he said that I shouldn't go on Jalopnik anymore. Having the text shifted so far to the right side of my screen is making me slouch to my right. The inevitable result is that my scoliosis will worsen, and I will need another spinal fusion. THANKS JALOPNIK

Feel that? It's your mullet hairs standing on end with excitement!!

I think the issue for racing has to be sponsorship, no question. I'm sure they will eventually have their day, though. Right now, I view the NFL as the big hold up, as it is clear from player interviews that there are a number of active players in the closet considering whether to come out. They don't have the same
