I think in a case like this, people are partaking, rather than taking. Big distinction.

There’s an interesting notion I see a lot among self-entitled white folks that they should have the same freedoms as children. That’s bizarre to me. For one... no. But really, we don’t get the same freedom as children because adulthood is by nature an existence of responsibility. Responsibility is at its core a

Exactly this. I’m Indian and I have met a few non-South Asians (usually white or black people) who studied Bharatanatyam (classical South Indian dance) for many years, studied under Indian gurus, lived and danced in India, and hold great reverence for the dance. That’s not cultural appropriation, that’s having a deep

The other thing too that people ignore is that not all cultures are equally threatened by appropriation. In the case of Mohicans, how many actual living Mohicans remain to keep their culture alive and thriving in light of the changes?

For centuries now there have been white Americans who love to put on ‘red face’ - play Indian. There are whole organizations devoted to it. As an actual Indian/First Nations person, I find the phenomenon both puzzling and creepy. These people often insist they are imitating some aspect of a culture perfectly -better

A lot of people don’t get that they don’t make the rules about things that belong to other people. And when you tell them they’re not entitled to that, well, they won’t fucking hear it.

People really don’t get this.

Amen! And followers of this stuff have been know to bankrupt themselves trying to live a lifestyle above their means because more money = more God’s love and less money = God doesn’t really like you

In Chicago, his program comes on right after the ABC political news program on Sunday. That means I sometimes see part of it while doing stuff around the house before I have had a chance to change the channel.

The thing is, NONE OF HIS PEOPLE WILL CARE. That’s what pisses me off the most - he is showing people his ass and they will continue to throw cash at him because... Jesus? I don’t even know. I was raised atheist and converted to Judaism as an adult and I’m basically an atheist Jew now and religion confuses me 99% of

I’d be a hell of a lot more convinced if those six to eight staff members who were at work and willing to open the doors to anyone who needed help were doing something, almost anything, to assist the community. If you’re a charitable organization, I think your duty to your community goes beyond being willing to

How about calling local media and saying “WE’RE OPEN IF ANYONE NEEDS SHELTER! PLEASE DIRECT PEOPLE TO COME HERE” Get on Twitter & FB and let people know.

Any church or other religious organization that is physically capable of offering shelter during a disaster and doesn’t should have its tax-free status automatically revoked. They should have to pay taxes like any other business until they can prove their charitable value to the community.

That header image. Oof. How anyone can believe this man or give him a buck is well beyond me.

Whoa whoa whoa, wait a second - people were actually defending this? I mean, aside from being unfathomably cruel, this is a plainly stupid way to go about getting people to splits. What good is your cheer team if they’re injured so badly they can’t move their legs?

Fuck your teacher! I am so angry for you.

As a former high-school female cheerleader back in the 70's, I can confirm that splits are:

1. Something you need to work your muscles into over a period of time

It’s a mix of overdone fillers, bad/cheap-looking hair color/style, and the absence of any depth to her soul.

Hopefully it’ll pay off for her at age 63, because at 36 it’s a no.

Her hair color is really bad for her skintone. If she were more a buttery blonde with some lowlights and it was softer, she’d look younger. Also her makeup is very bad. She looks cakey-powdery. If she wore sheer makeup and had dewy skin and was more natural looking, she’d look more her age. I also think the way she
