I'm pretty much a Star Wars 'fanboy' and I enjoyed it. Ian McDiarmid is just awesome regardless.

The gaffes will have already appeared online. Once it's up, it's hard to take down. Even today, so many of those gaffes get found out, and with people who actually know how to use the internet out there (and so many people who don't), I don't think this is actually going to solve much.
