that....all day long, that comment.
I had a Duster of the same era - and it was a nice car for the time and for the money. But it certainly was a ‘chick car’.
yes, that was a decision you made at the finance desk right before the deal was done - picking the warranty. Was a very smart idea at the time by Chrysler to give consumers a choice.
ditto
Torch - you’re suffering a little generation gap here. Sure, by modern standards, it’s a crap-can. By current standards, it’s nothing a Jalop will pine for as a car of our youth.....But at the time, it was a pretty nice car really. More handsome, more content and less $ than a Ciera/Century/6000 that it competed with…
the Lincoln LS was absolute garbage - I suffered owning one, amongst my many Lincolns. Utter. Garbage. On the 15% of the days it ran right, it was a great car....but overall garbage.
that is correct
they gave the flex an osteoporosis hump and called it an MKT. I totally dig your idea though...that would look really cool.
Sure wish one car company or another would make another actually large land yacht. Biggest thing in this genre a guy can buy that is relatively modern is a 2011 Town Car, and those are getting hard to come by now. I don’t want a crossover or an suv - I have a truck. I don’t want it sporty - I have a Mustang for that.…
yes
all I think of when I look at that front end is - holy crap, I’ll never get the bugs off/out of all those nooks and crannies.
the ‘jalops’ who are ragging on this build have never driven/experienced in real life a decently built modded P71. The smiles per gallon are high, the $/grins are low, and you can daily these things to 400K miles with very little drama. Not to mention it fits 6 dead hookers in the trunk.
both those piles of garbage will still be for sale next year. $200 for the pair and haul away today will buy ‘em.....
The Duster and the Shadow ES were the Mopar pony/muscle cars of the era - the biggest motor (3.o) they could wedge in a midsized low end cheap body....the formula is the formula.
not a scoop - they called it a ‘power bulge’. Looked decent, but was absolutely nothing more than decorative.
whatever they get......Leather Seats......the rest is materially less relevant. Kids are slobs.
that’s me in a nutshell, purdy -
Absolutely. that’s where all my guitar money comes from. A couple saturdays will put 3-500 in my pocket to play around with.
