How often do you guys have unannounced guests? I can count on one hand, (and probably don't need all the fingers), the number of times people have surprised me with a visit. I'm not sure if that's because I usually go to my friends, (I'm one of the only non-breeders in my circle; they all have a traveling circus), or

Always great wallpapers on these posts. I still prefer Korean racequeens though... my wife doesn't mind, she's also Korean.

Whaaaat? That sounds like you had a weird flight attendant. Either that, or Virgin is full of crap, because on their site it says they have "standard and USB plugs at every seat. Keep your devices juiced up while you connect in the air."

It's been a while since I flew with them, but I'm pretty sure I remember coach seats on Hawaiian Airlines having USB ports. I also remember Korean Air having them (for flying international to Japan). Can anyone back this up?

+1 for mentioning sound. Low quality video with good sound is a lot easier to enjoy than high quality video with bad sound.

LOTS of lights. If you're shooting anything indoors get lots of lighting. And make sure all of it is the same color temperature, except for effect. Cameras need lots of light to have good color and no grain. If shooting inside in daylight, you'll probably need to cover your windows with daylight balancing sheets.

I don't really like X11/ported apps. The user experience is usually sub-par. (speaking of macports/X11 on Mac ... on Linux they are perfect)

So it handles RAW photos then? Because I've been looking for a Lightroom replacement (preferably on both Mac & PC). Saw someone said Darkable for Mac. But all I need is RAW + batch editing.

As powerful of a program as I'm sure this is, that's really the thing that sets open source software from paid programs- the user interface. I know my fair share of Adobe products but when the interface is so basic, the learning curve basically becomes a cliff.

Holy tone-mapping batman.. This extreme contrast HDR is so 2009

LightZone seems like a nice program but their website looks like the Blair Witch Project.

I'm surprised using a good A/V receiver wasn't suggested.

Remember kids, no matter what you do, you are not going to play Duck Hunt on a flat panel TV.

If you're the proud owner of older game consoles and actually still play on them, I'd say that you're different. So, why not take it to the next step and mod your console? You can install a composite output in the Sega Master System and the Sega Genesis model I - and a S-Video output in the Genesis I and II. It seems

Don't mistake the words "hacked together" as some kind of derogatory comment. My point is really that they're assembled by enthusiasts and aren't first-party supported.

Impossible, due to the way light guns, such as the NES Zapper work. Get a CRT or a third party light gun that uses a sensor bar.

The older you get, S-Video may be your best option, and if you have it on your TV, go for it as long as you don't have composite as an alternative.

The Wire-Fu is strong in this one.

It's not always about price for me. As a computer builder, and the main tech support whether I built or not - I want to know what components are in the machines that I have to work on.

meh. dont get the meh wrong. its just i see this outside my kitchen window every day. or i can drive for 10 minutes and walk for 10 and be lost in woods like these.
