Been thinking about that a lot as I read about how more and more people are going urban. Will my suburban house be desirable when I want to leave the neighborhood.

That inflation seems a bit crazy - it'd be 50k increase over now. And $1k over 100 years ago is $25k in today's money. But you make a good point nonetheless
When and why do you want to retire? Most people say that our age group will never be able to retire - we have too rich a lifestyle compared to how much we can get out of our retirement.
Don't retire. That's what I've been told.
depends how far you have to go. If you're in your 20s it doesn't matter how crazy the market is. If you're in your 50s it matters.

We got a set allowance - when I was young it was like $1.50 per week. I credit it as the biggest reason I've never gotten into debt. When I wanted that $5 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figure, I had to save for a month. When I wanted to rent a video game I had to save for 2 weeks. And so on. So I know you have to…
My parents took the following tack: You need to do chores whether or not you get allowance. However, if you don't do your chores you don't get allowance. In other words, allowance is not payment for chores, but if you can't be bothered to do chores, they can't be bothered to give you allowance.
takes me back to the polarization demonstration in uni
That would have been awesome since it was a Microsoft interview except....the iPhone hasn't even been invented yet, much less Siri
yup, that was the correct answer. Sadly, I didn't say it.

A good point although also a silly one since it wasn't a drawing-based job
that's similar to what I said, but the correct answer was - make it voice activated and have it say the time
