Makes sense. Although people here do sometimes not know how to dress. Just a cultural thing, I think.

I know prayer is a religious and personal thing, but why is it OK for National Geographic to do and not me?

Not sure I agree with that. People should dress however they want to dress unless they're going into a temple or something that requires people to be covered up.

yeah, definitely messed up, but I think economics-wise it makes sense or they wouldn't do it.

No. Because I hate going to stores. I just buy stuff on Amazon. I use reviews and trusted friends to know if stuff is crap.

I enjoyed - was it SNL or Jimmy Fallon - where he got "drunk" off of milk.

So true. I know there are reasons why they made airline tickets non-transferable and all that, but it makes it a pain to cancel - even if you'd be endangering everyone on the plane.

I know air crews have power on a flight - but if you paid for something aren't you due it? I guess he could have called the credit card company to reverse the charge, but that's pretty dickish.

A good point. However, morals don't dictate afterlife consequences while religions do. So for someone to whom a religion is real, they don't want to burn in hell (or whatever) because some jerk lied to him about mixing meat and non-meat. Now, is that god a jerk for not realizing it's not the dude's fault? I don't know

Ah, ok. Sometimes with metaphors I get a little stuck on those things.

thanks!

Haha. Yeah I figured I'd get these kinds of replies given the general atheism on lifehacker and among tech geeks in general. But I mean that to him, he might go to hell or whatever his religion says - it's real to him. So he can't have that contamination. But if you don't like animals being killed and your food

Exactly - they're trying to make a buck on a trend rather than realizing it has origins in allergies

Hehe, I just referenced this in my comment. Glad to see someone else thought of it too.

I hate this guy for making GGW. I love the sendup "Girls with Low Self Esteem" in Arrested Development.

yeah, I definitely agree that people should get what they pay for. But in my mind there's a sliding scale. If you're not eating animals because you don't like how they're treated then don't eat it, but if it touches meat - whatever. But if you believe your soul is at stake (or w/e happens with people who are religious

that sucks! My mom is deathly allergic to iodine-containing seafood so I know how scary that can be.

I'm confused about the last sentence. Are you saying southerners prefer bush? Never knew there was a North/South thing.

That actually sounds pretty awesome. I mean, there are some people for whom science means nothing, but I'm always in favor of science over people's stories which may make things sound different from the norm because of selection bias - say, for example, the types of men and women who read Jezebel.

what about organic/free range animals?
