@Lucian Armasu: I ask that you remember this comment and reassess after Q2 2011.

@Diogenes-the-Cynic: So when Microsoft isn't moving people around they need a shake up. But when they do, you call it people jumping ship.

Jeep? As if any self respecting Mac owner would be caught dead driving American!

This would get me to look at Nook again. Give me a $100 wifi-only price by Christmas and I'll tell Amazon to bugger off.

@Ninety-9: That under-powered price-inflated piece of tech is a kite! Come on! You're missing the point!!!

@ldouglas956: Wait, *YOU* have been waiting for solar power to make a breakthrough?

@Doug Aitken: The icon theme and dock are not default. The rest is.

@brandonjp: It's Avant Window Navigator. I've been following AWN since early in its development. I find it very stable, has great applets, and is very customizable.

@Thomas Stockx: Thanks everyone who tried to help answer for me, but it isn't Docky — though I'm sure you achieve the same look with Docky.

@arqbrulo: True, I installed the Fraenza icon set. I don't think it looked particularly worse with the default set, but for the sake of full disclosure.

I dare say Ubuntu looks plenty good on its own.

The Iron Man mod of indie Tin Man is too cool for me to care about the creator's hurt ~'*feelings*'~.

@hfutrell: Well I owned an iPod from Summer of 2003 through Christmas of 2008. I can't remember iTunes ever being snappy— but I do recall specifically things getting substantially slower in 2006 when they added cover flow— whether or not I was using that view.
